Did you know...

Released concurrently with the Quadra 700, the Quadra 900 had the most expandable memory of any Macintosh before it, supporting up to 256MB!

Code named "Darwin" and "IIex", the 900 came with one piece of equipment that was completely alien to all previous Macs: a key! With the key, a user could set the Quadra 900 to one of three modes: Off, Secure, and On. In the "Off" position the machine could not be powered up; In the "Secure" position the mouse, keyboard and floppy disk were disabled (useful for dedicated file serving); the "On" position, of course, rendered the Quadra 900 fully functional.

Current used market value of a 8/230 configuration: $450
