Running ten to fifteen percent faster than the Mac II, the Macintosh IIx was the first modular Mac equipped with a 68030 processor and an FPU. Code named "Spock", the IIx also offered better memory expansion than the Mac II -- it could handle up to 128MB versus the II's 64MB!
