Being the last member of the Mac II series, the IIvx was the first Mac to come with a built-in CD-ROM drive option. Unfortunately, it was discontinued less than a year after its release when it quickly became outpriced and outperformed by the Centris machines. Despite the fact that the IIvx was a solid, flexible performer, thousands of buyers felt burned!
