| Code named "Montana", the Macintosh Classic II was one of the last of the compact Macs to be released. It ran at the same processor speed as the SE/30 it replaced; however, it was about 30 percent slower. The reason? Whereas the SE/30 had a 32-bit data path, the Classic II was humbly endowed with only 16-bit. This was okay considering that its price was touted at almost $2000 cheaper! Current used market value of a 4/40 configuration: $165 |
