Advantages

Expansion	Sporting 5 free PCI slots and four available drive bays, the S900 is built to be customized.
A.S.P.D.	Although seemingly trivial, an S900/180dp does have the capability to have it's two 180MHz 604e cards upgraded to one or two faster cards.
Service	Umax is quickly building a reputation for good service. Included free in the first year of ownership is onsite service. Phone support has been very good, as has been the company's knowledge of their machines.
Speed	Especially as equipped with the IMS video card, S900's are all about speed. Each model comes with 16mb of interleaved memory on the logic board.

Drawbacks

L2 cache	Although there is uncertainty just how much this affects performance, the S900's have just 512k L2 cache which is not upgradeable.
Assembly	While designed for easy access inside the case, S900 logic boards and processor cards sometimes jiggle loose in transportation. It is quite easy to not seat the logic board correctly once it has been removed.
