Advantages

Expansion	The J700 has two drive bays available and a healthy number of free RAM and PCI slots.
Service	Umax is quickly building a reputation for good service. Included free in the first year of ownership is onsite service. Phone support has been very good, as has been the company's knowledge of their machines.
Speed	Especially as equipped with the IMS video card, J700's are strong performers. The 150Mhz model comes with 16MB of interleaved RAM soldered to the logic board.
SCSI	J700's, like PowerMacs, have separate internal and external SCSI bus's. Internal is a fast (10mb per second) chain and externally the chain supports up to 5mb per second.

Drawbacks

L2 cache	Although there is uncertainty just how much this affects performance, the J700's have just 512k L2 cache which is not upgradeable.
