What Would It Take?

Well,
I would seriously consider switiching from a Mac to another platform because of the System 8 fiasco over the last year. I have no reason to believe that Apple will port Next by mid 98 as promised, as they were hopelessly behind with Copland.
The only thing stopping me from changing is that BeOS looks like a wonderful alternative to both MacOS anf Windows, and the fact that BeOS will run many Mac apps with Virtual Mac is a real blessing. Why didnt Apple buy Be instead of Next? They would have an OS already running on their machines with backwards compatibility. Yet another screw-up in a long line from Apple.
