Apple Unveils New iPad Commercial

Apple today unveiled a new iPad commercial entitled "What is iPad?" This ad, which closely models an old Newton ad from almost two decades ago, uses something of a gangster tone to communicate the features and benefits of Apple's premier and wildly popular tablet computer.

3G iPad Goes On Sale Today

For many, the initial release of the iPad was nothing more than an appetizer, preparatory to the REAL iPad which would arrive "sometime in late April". While the novelty of original iPad's release made for some fantastic Apple fanfare, it was tainted by the underlying fact that it only spoke Wi-Fi.

Today, the 3G iPad was released out into the wild and, finally, users could have an iPad capable of connecting from most anywhere (enter Verizon verses AT&T jokes here).

How did Apple fans respond? See the video below for the reaction in Cincinnati.

New iPhone? No Freakin' Way this is Real

Okay, we'll bite. Engadget, Gizmodo and other gadget and Apple fanboy sites are all screaming about this past weekend's emergence of the proposed, new iPhone.

The next generation of iPhones are expected to be released this June -- substantiating that expectation is the fact that AT&T has officially announced a US-wide moratorium on vacations for full-time AT&T employees.

Of course, amidst that shining diamond of info, the $24,000 question begs, "What are the specs?!?"

Highlights of the new iPhone, according to the reports, include a front-facing camera, a flash-enabled rear-facing camera and boxy-looking rectangle case (instead of the rounded back that's a part of current iPhone and iPod touch, this unit is supposedly flat on the front and back). No doubt, extended battery life and an improved camera will be among the touted enhancements. Read full article »

Apple Lowers Prices of Previous-Generation, Refurbished MacBook Pro Laptops

Refurbished MacBook Pro Laptop

Apple yesterday announced the availability of a new and upgraded line of MacBook Pro laptops. Accompanying this news was the expectation that we'd see substantial price drops in the previous generation of Apple's flagship pro laptops. Luckily, those updated discounts were realized this morning, as Apple reduced the prices of all previous-generation refurbished MacBook Pro laptops from Apple's online store. The new, updated prices are shown below. Read full article »

Apple Introduces New MacBook Pro Family

In a long-awaited and highly expected move, Apple this morning introduced an update to the entire MacBook Pro line of Apple laptops. With faster processors, more powerful graphics and longer battery life, the new family of MacBook Pro are smokin' hot and, best of all, they're available immediately.

Core i5 and Core i7 Processors
Abandoning the Core 2 Duo processors from the previous MacBook Pro generation, Apple has outfitted these new laptops with Intel's Core i5 and Core i7 processors. In response, users can now expect a 50 percent performance boost over the prior MacBook Pro. These latest processors also boast a killer feature called Turbo Boost, a feature that dynamically increases the speed of one or both processor cores as excessive computing demands require. Built-in Hyper-Threading allows two threads to run simultaneously on each core, so Mac OS X recognizes four virtual cores instead of just two. When you’re running multiple applications at once, the Core i5 and Core i7 processors spread tasks more evenly across a greater number of cores – so we can get more done, faster.

Faster Graphics with NVIDIA
Boasting the fastest graphics ever in a Mac laptop, the 15- and 17-inch models of the new MacBook Pro feature NVIDIA's new GeForce GT 330M graphics card. It's a perfect match, as the GT 330M card is substantially more energy efficient than the MacBook Pro's prior graphics processor. Finally, we have a perfect marriage of high speed and battery life!

Extended Battery Life
Since high-performance graphics kick in only when you need them, the battery in the 15- and 17-inch MacBook Pro can last up to 8-9 hours on a single charge. The 13-inch MacBook Pro can last up to 10 hours. Read full article »
