November 23, 2009 – Apple secretly dropped the prices of two refurbished Mac minis today.

Targeting the holiday shopping season, in a potential effort to lure frustrated Windows users over, Apple reduced the prices of its two highest-end refurbished Mac mini models. Other Mac mini configurations are also offered at The Apple Store for similarly cheap prices, though their prices remained unchanged as of this writing.

These are easily the lowest prices we've found on any refurbished Mac mini boasting this level of performance.

The 2.26GHz Mac mini with 1GB of RAM and a 120GB hard drive saw a price decrease of $200. Originally priced at $649, this model is now being offered at $449.

Additionally, the 2.26GHz model with 2GB of RAM and 320GB hard drive was reduced from $799 to $599.

Both models come with an 8x double-layer SuperDrive, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics and a full one-year warranty from Apple.

Unfortunately, with prices these cheap, refurbished Mac minis don't last long. Consistently, once Mac minis are added to the Special Deals section of The Apple Store, they are quickly purchased and the supply is depleted within an hour. November 23, 2009 – Get your wallets ready. The Apple Online Store this morning announced their one-day "TGI Friday. Especially this Friday" shopping event. The shopping event coincides with the nation's largest shopping day, commonly known as "Black Friday". This year, Black Friday will be on November 27th.

The announcement alludes to sales on iPod, iPhone and Mac gift ideas, and boasts free shipping on all orders.

Historically, discounts from Apple on Black Friday have been primarily focused towards accessories and low-cost Apple gear (less than $200). Apple would break form if it allowed significant deals on big-dollar items like desktop Macs and laptops. Luckily, we won't have to wait for long to find out what this sale will bring. November 20, 2009 – Today notable e-tailer Amazon.com updated their list of over 1,340 MP3 songs, available for FREE download immediately.

The free songs span a vast range of genres, including nearly something for everyone. Children's music, christian & gospel, metal, rap, hip-hop, soundtracks and blues are just a few of the 21 total categories presented. Of course, artists are similarly varied, including well-known musicians Dolly Parton, Phillip Glass, Ziggy Marley and David Byrne. For the rockers, artists Poison, Twisted Sister and Skinny Puppy are also represented. Numerous underground/alternative artists are available as well.

November 11, 2009 -- AT&T this morning announced the availability of refurbished 3GS iPhones at a substantial discount. Both 16GB and 32GB reconditioned models are now available for $50 cheaper than their shiny-new counterparts.

Prior to this announcement, common knowledge throughout the Apple online community recognized that previous-generation 3G models were available for an amazingly cheap $49 -- the 16GB 3G model being only $99.

With today's announcement, however, iPhone-seeking fanatics are no longer required to settle for yesteryear's technology. They can enjoy all the enhancements of the 3GS model, while saving pennies for the upcoming Christmas shopping season.

Currently, the refurbished vs. new iPhone breakdown is as follows:



A prior-generation, new 8GB iPhone G3 is currently available for $99. However, the refurbished version of the same nets a whopping 50% discount -- available for only $49. Now that's a cheap iPhone, no question.

A reconditioned 16GB iPhone 3G is also available for $100.

New 16GB and 32GB 3GS models remain at their current AT&T-subsidized price of $199 and $299 respectively. Refurbished versions are substantially cheaper as well, and can be had for $149 for the 16GB version and $249 for the 32GB model.

Refurbished iPhones are only available from AT&T and, incidentally, are not available from the refurbished section of The Apple Store.

AT&T requires a two-year contract and new activation in order to purchase these iPhones at these cheap prices.

November 10, 2009 – Not a huge day for news on the Apple discounts front, though one item in particular did stand out this morning. The refurbished 120GB iPod Classic saw a slight price reduction from $199 to $189.

The 120GB iPod Classic was replaced by the 7th generation 160GB model in mid-October and is consequently no longer available as a new purchase from the Apple Online Store (it is currently available from Amazon.com for $226 however).

The refurbished version, which comes with Apple's standard one-year warranty, is 15% cheaper than Amazon's price and can be purchased from Apple's online store for $189. It comes in both silver and black and, as of this writing, both colors were available at this discounted price. Unfortunately, custom laser engraving is not available on refurbished Apple iPods from The Apple Store.

November 9, 2009 – Something weird must be in the air, Because in the last three days we've had exactly three separate bundles of Macintosh software-collection packages on sale. Big discounts. Huge savings, so they say...

A-Dock X:

October 21, 2009 — Today, one day following Apple's announcement of the new Magic Mouse, Apple has dropped pricing on the refurbished aluminum Wireless Keyboard.

The completely cable-free Apple Wireless Keyboard uses Bluetooth technology to connect with your Mac. So you're free to move the keyboard just about anywhere within range and wirelessly type away.

Previously priced at $69, the refurbished Wireless Keyboard is now available for $59.

One day after Apple slashed prices on five MacBook (and MacBook Air) configurations, they again reduce pricing on two more refurbished models. These discounts, likely motivated by the upcoming back-to-school season, will be a blessing to students looking for a great discount on some quality gear.

The refurbished aluminum 2.0GHz Macbook with 128GB solid-state drive and 2GB of ram, was discounted $100. New price is $1199 (marked down from $1299).

Apple Inc. today dropped prices on certified, refurbished MacBook and MacBook Air laptops. The Apple Store today cut pricing on some of its most popular certified, refurbished portable products. Possibly making way for a new line of small, lightweight laptops, Apple reduced prices even lower than before (up to $100 in some instances) on products already consider by most as "rock bottom cheap".

Two MacBooks saw price cuts: The 2.0GHz 2GB/160GB aluminum MacBook with SuperDrive, previously listed at $949, was discounted by $50 to $899.
